Hallie Shapiro Devir is Associate Vice President, Community Outreach and Engagement at the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago. She oversees the Federation’s initiatives for youth, including niche programs for teens, support of informal Jewish educators, and immersive Jewish experiences. Hallie began her career at the Federation in 2000 as Associate Director for the Israel Experience Program. Her previous experience includes working as Program Coordinator for the Children’s Scholarship Fund, as a preschool teacher, and as the youth director at Beth Israel Religious School in Portland, Oregon. Hallie earned a BA in English Literature from Brandeis University. A member of the Jewish Teen Funders Network’s Steering Committee, Hallie is passionate about philanthropy, service, and informal Jewish education and works to grow the number and status of community programs for teens centered on tikkun olam. Hallie lives with her husband Eric and their three children in Chicago.
Sonia Marie Leikam is the Collaborative Giving Program Coordinator at the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation. A graduate of Lewis & Clark College (BA) and Portland State University (M.Ed), she also holds a Certificate in Holocaust & Genocide Studies from Georgetown University. A wife and mother first, she lives with her husband, 3 boys and 3 cats. The owner and assistant brewer at Leikam Brewing, Sonia Marie volunteers with the local chapter of the Pink Boots Society, an organization seeking to empower women in the beer industry and serves on the steering committee at Congregation Shir Tikvah.
