B'nai Tzedek
Think that being a philanthropist and establishing an endowment fund is for grown-ups with a lot of money? Think again! San Antonio’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah age teens are learning to be philanthropists in the B’nai Tzedek Teen Philanthropy program.B’nai Tzedek encourages teens to establish their own personal endowment fund within the Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies with an initial personal investment of $250. That $250 is entirely matched by private donors, creating a personal endowment fund of $500. Once each year, participants can contribute up to 20% per year to qualified charities in the U.S. that serve the Jewish community in San Antonio or anywhere in the world, work closely with Jewish organizations, promote Jewish ideals, or perform important work in our local community. Participants may add to their personal endowment funds at any time.
