Program Description:

The B’nai Tzedek Teen Philanthropy Program of Omaha has as its goal to provide teen fund holders programming that will give them age appropriate skills and knowledge in financial literacy and modern philanthropy, with an emphasis on Jewish organizations.  Any Bar/Bat Mitzvah teen is eligible to open an account with the Jewish Federation of Omaha Foundation.  The account must be opened with a minimum of $125, and as a generous show of support for the endeavor, the Foundation adds $375 to that account.  Each year the participant grants up to 10% of the fund, or $50, whichever is greater, to a charity or charities of his or her choice.  At least one of the designated charities must be Jewish.
