Program Description:

Jewish teen philanthropy programs provide teens with an opportunity to engage in hands-on philanthropy while learning the Jewish values of tzedakah (charity), gemilut chasadim (acts of loving-kindness), and tikkun olam (repairing the world). Jewish teen philanthropy programming goes beyond a simple tzedakah lesson or fundraising project. By engaging teens in collective philanthropic giving, these programs help youth to understand the Jewish obligation of tzedakah on a much deeper level. Participating in a teen foundation empowers our teens to take on leadership roles in the community. It gives them an opportunity to collaborate, debate, and exposes them to the tough issues facing our community, while giving them the opportunity to make a direct impact on the world.
