JTFN's Youth Ambassador Council is a new platform for expert teen philanthropists to connect with teens from across the network and share their insights and experiences with the JTFN team.
Meet the 2016-2017 JTFN Youth Ambassador Council!
Connor is a senior from Princeton, New Jersey and is currently participating in the Jewish Community Youth Foundation. Service is very important to Connor. He has traveled to many places around the world to do community service, including New Orleans, Israel and Cuba.
Ilana is involved in B'nai Tzedek and BBYO in Phoenix, Arizona, and she is a junior. She loves to swim and sing!
Joanna is currently a senior at Hawken School in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a past member of Jewish Federation of Cleveland's Saltzman Youth Panel. Joanna is the managing editor for her school newspaper, spent last summer travelling on BBYO's trip to Israel and Bulgaria, and loves salted caramel ice cream.
Lucy is a tenth grader living in Manhattan, New York City. She is an active participant in her second year of UJA's Teen Philanthropic Leadership Council. Lucy attends Camp Ramah in California, has a strong love for Israel, and her favorite comedian is Amy Schumer (she's half-Jewish!).
Quincy is a Senior at Whitney M Young Magnet High School in Chicago, Illinois. He is a leading member of the Voices Teen Alumni Foundation, and has been working with Voices for 4 years. Quincy has been a part of over $100,000 of allocations to nonprofit organizations across Chicago and abroad, and he is looking forward to being a Youth Ambassador to further his impact with Voices.
Rebecca is a junior at the International Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She participated in the Jewish Fund Teen Board in the 2015-2016 school year, and has become very interested in philanthropy and social justice in her community and in the world. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys traveling; she has been to seven countries and seventeen states. Rebecca also is a leader of both the Gay Straight Whatever Alliance (GSWA) and the Students For Human Equality (SAFE) clubs at her school. She enjoys running, walking, biking, reading, playing guitar, ukulele and violin, and spending time with her family and friends.
Micaela is a senior at East High School in Denver, Colorado. She participated in Rose Youth Foundation for two years prior to joining the Youth Ambassador Council. In her spare time, Micaela likes to play sports and cheer on the Denver Broncos.
Jake represents the Oregon Jewish Community Youth Foundation (OJCYF) in Portland, Oregon. He is a Junior at Sunset High School and is very invested in the school's arts and social programs. He believes in helping people and making any and every community a stronger, better place for all.
Jordan is a junior at Sequoia High School and she lives in San Carlos, California (30 min from San Francisco). For the past three years, she has been a member of the North Peninsula Jewish Teen Foundation, which is youth philanthropy! There are 25 teens on a board per year and together, they come up with a mission statement that guides their fundraising and giving for the year. Jordan's freshman year she was a first-year board member, sophomore she was elected to be on the Leadership Council of the program and this year and next she is the project director's Intern! Jordan also studied abroad last semester in Israel through Alexander Muss High School in Israel which completely changed her life.
Noam lives in Teaneck New Jersey and is a sophomore at the Frisch school. He is an alumni of H.O.P.E. (Helping Organizations Provide Essentials), a teen philanthropy program run by Areyvut. He enjoys playing sports, video games and hanging out with his friends and actively making the world a better place.
