Teen Giving Project at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia
The Jewish Teen Funders Network's Foundation Board Incubator brings the success and impact of Jewish teen philanthropy programs across North America into cities around the world without an existing community-wide Jewish teen foundation program. Building upon a decade of experience with programs in the field of Jewish teen philanthropy, JTFN works closely with each host institution to develop high investment and high intensity community-based programs.
Current JTFN Foundation Board Incubator communities:
Jewish Family and Chidlren's Services of Greater Philadelphia (formerly hosted at Teen Giving Project, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)
Israel Association of Community Centers, Israel (formerly hosted as Keren Baktana)
Houston Teen Philanthropy Initiative, Houston, Texas
With more than 100 teen foundations already running in synagogues, summer camps, and day schools across North America, the Foundation Board Incubator focuses on launching teen foundations housed in community organizations (such as federations and community foundations) which allow for building pluralistic and diverse teen boards. Communities participating in the Incubator benefit from partnership in development and implementation of their program in addition to coaching on opportunities for scaling and growth.
In addition to operational support, JTFN provides a framework of curriculum - from orientation and mission statement development, to fundraising and learning about non-profit operations, proposal review and site visits to institutions, and ultimately a consensus based allocations process - and program components including family programming, teen leadership experiences, alumni programming, which are adaptable to reflect the culture of each community.

Lastly, the Foundation Board Incubator engages in a financial partnership over 3-5 years to support each new teen foundation as local support increases and eventually fully sustains the program. The Incubator engages 10 communities to develop and launch community-wide Jewish teen foundations.
The JTFN Foundation Board Incubator is a project of the Jewish Teen Funders Network, funded by Laura Lauder and the Maimonides Fund. For more information about the JTFN Foundation Board Incubator, please contact Danielle Segal, Senior Program Manager.
