This past March, Jewish communities celebrated the holiday of Purim by dressing up in costumes. Did events over the last year dealing with racism, antisemitism, and other forms of prejudice prompt you to have different kinds of conversations about the themes of the holiday with your students, including the appropriateness of their costume?

In this webinar, we will discuss ways of starting conversations about race and equity in particularly Jewish educational settings while exploring the historical roots of a living stereotype as manifested in the recent incidents involving blackface.

This webinar will introduce themes of race and equity that we will explore more fully in our summer workshop, Race and Equity in the Context of Jewish Education.
